Invitation to 5-0-5 Racing in Åhus 2000

There will be 2 events in Åhus this summer, the first event is a training-camp in May and the second event is the Swedish Championships, Friday-Sunday 14-16th of July.

Swedish Championships
The race will be "different" and hopefully exciting since it combines speed-skills with match-racing skills. It will be a combination of offshore-sailing and near shore short-course sailing.

A series of 8 races will be sailed where the offshore races will have a 2X score factor and the short-course races on Saturday will have a 1X score factor and on Sunday a 1.5X score factor. The winner in each race receives points equal to the number of starting yachts multiplied with the score factor. The second yacht in each race receives points equal to the number of starting yachts –1 multiplied with the score factor - and so on for 3:rd, 4:th etc. The yacht with most points after the last will be declared winner.

The short-course sailing will be immediately next to the "Åhusbryggan" a 150m pier where spectators can watch the racing beeing "in the middle of the race-course" see
