G'day all Well,

Todays racing has already been abandoned as yesterdays sea breeze has keept on building overnight. It was 33knts at around 8.30 am.

Yesterday was one of the best and most frustrating sails. We had a good start. Got a good clear lane located between Howie and Krister. Burnt all the punters off and tacked back into a good lane to get back to the right. We rounded the top mark around 7th. Then the nightmare began. I have never ever been that slow down wind in my life. 15 boats overtook us on the first reach. It was so embarising, and yes we were using the North kite.

Today we are not even going to bother wiping our arse with this kite. Thank god we have the Ullman one as the seppos are the fastest downwind. Ten boats would pass us downwind and we would get four of them back upwind. We are as fast and as high as all the good guys, We sat on Barker's (49er silver medalist and past world 505 champion) hip for as long as we liked without a problem. It is quite interesting to see the different ideas that the good guys try.

After rigging next to Krister Bergstrom we now know why he is called god in the boat park. There is nothing that he doesn't know or hasn't tried. He has this carbon contraption that he shoves down the centre case to eliminate the water.

I have learnt a lot looking at the other boats and we need to improve our centreboards. The seppos are still using their high aspect boards when it is still blowing and obviously are fast. We have good height and speed. We have recut the mainsail. We added more luff round as we were running out to early and as a result, badly lacking in the height department when over powered. Dont know if it is because mast is more flexible, boat is stiffer or just more wind.

The top ten is now our goal as we have the speed and height to windward just need good starts and fix the downwind shit fight up. We are now off to show the seppos, poms and locals how to drive a go-kart then we are going to Kings Park Stadium to watch a sevens tournament and then to Joe Kools to watch the aussies flog the poms this arvo. latter skatter
