505 No 8, a Fairy Marine construction built completely in laminated Sapele mahogany. The technique was introduced on the market after World War II during which time the Fairy company built Mosquito bombers for the Royal Air Force.

The constructor of the Coronet from which the 505 later was derived, Mr. John Westell is here seen by the stern firmly holding on to his "baby".

The French retro 505 class has recently spotted 505 No. 1 somewhere in northern France and are currently trying to locate it more precisely.
