Day 4, Bojsen-Bojsen DEN winners, USA teams 6th and 8th

Calms over Warnemünde GER kept the boats ashore on the last day of the 5o5 European Championship 2017. Jacob (age 61) and his brother Jörgen (age 63) Bojsen-Möller DEN, two-times Olympic FD-medalists (88 and 92) and eldest team in the fleet were crowned World Champions. Silver went to Nathan Batchelor/Sam Pascoe GBR 8 points behind. Lutz Stengel/Frank Feller GER followed on the 3rd place. Howie Hamlin/Jeff Nelson USA is on rank 6, Douglas Hagan/Paul von Grey USA 8th among the 98 teams from 13 nations and 4 continents.

A weak breeze and the wait for wind in the waters off Warnemunde were the conditions of the last days of this year's European Championship for 505 dinghies. Fortunately, there were wind the first few days when four races were completed and which was enough to secure the gold to Jørgen and Jacob Bojsen-Møller from Hellerup Sejlklub, Denmark.

Five European Championship medals
The brothers are not unfamiliar with standing at the top of the podium. It's actually for the fifth time. The first was 38 years ago at the European Championship for 505 dinghies at Kiel. And in 2013 at the European Championship in Medemblick, the brothers also ended up with gold around their necks.

Already before the European Championships at the Kiel Week/505 Euro Cup Regatta on 18-21 June, when the top teams were assembled, the brothers showed their sovereignty, after raising a series of five first places which secured victory.
