Rondar KISS 505 Rondar Raceboats has been building the 505 dinghy for over 25 years, and the latest model is now the dominant design worldwide, winning five of the last six World Championships, including the most recent Worlds in Hyannis, MA! The KISS model is a simplified version of this Worlds winning design, employing straightforward rigging and construction that help to lower the final cost of getting on the water. The boat is ready-to-race, complete with either Danger/Ullman or North Sails, and is be capable of racing to the front of any fleet worldwide.Construction The KISS boat features construction with vinylester resin and tri-axial cloth, with the hulls and decks being vacuum bagged with foam core. Epoxy resin may be substituted for an additional cost. These boats, with either resin system, have proven to be both light and durable, with virtually no maintenance required. Specification The KISS boat will be a complete, ready-to-race package, fitted out with Harken and Ronstan hardware, Proctor spars, Guck, Inc. rudder and gybing centerboard, top quality lines and sheets, and the finest sails from Danger/Ullman or North Sails. Covers and Rapide trailers are also available as part of the package at a savings over separate pricing. Any two tone color scheme is available for the hulls, and decks will be white or gray. Rapide Trailers and Dollies Rapide trailers need no introduction, as they have been the standard 505 trailer for years. We would recommend the large, radial tire version in either the single or double rig. These tires are of much higher quality and will yield a more stable ride in addition to longer life. Single Trailer This old standard has been recently improved with a continuous roller across the back, eliminating the possibility of the dolly slipping off the rollers as you load the boat. Does not include a dolly. Double Trailer The double has been greatly improved recently, with the main chassis rails now at maximum width. This makes the upper frame construction much stronger. All welds are now plated for strength, and the upper boat frame has been lowered to the minimum possible distance, lowering the overall height of the trailer considerably. The trailer is also fitted with a European spec beam axle which can be relocated on the chassis to balance changing loads, a problem with the old design. Overall this is a greatly improved product, one that now lives up to the promise of the design. Shipping Charges The shipping charges on a boat or trailer will vary depending on the volume of goods in a given container. We will be attempting to fill 40 foot containers with new and used boats, trailers, and masts, so the shipping charge on a given item should not add significantly to the final price.
