Lack of wind delays todays race...Ian Pinnell wins and is second in the overallThe lack og wind registered in Cascais caused a delay of more than four hours in the seventh race of the Quebramar - 505 World Championship, that ends Friday (28th of September). In a very tactic race, due the the poor wind conditions, the british team Ian Pinnell / Tim Hancock took full advantage of being todays pathfinder and held on to the lead, that they secured on the start, untill the end of the race. With this victory, Pinnell and Hancock reached the second place of the overall classification, just behind the germans Wolfgang Hunger / Holger Jess, that came ninth in this last race. The americans Howard Hamlin (world champion in 1999) and Mike Martin came second in todays race, followed by the swedes Krister Bergstrom (five times world champion) and Thomas Moss that are now third in the overall The team Álvaro Marinho / Tiago Marcelino got a 24th position and reached the 18th position in the overall. It's now more and more probable for them to end as the highest portuguese team in the event, as Afonso Domingos and Henrique Anjos felt down to 26th, after ending todays race in the 37th place. Tomorrows race (28th of September), the last one of this Quebramar - 505 World Championship, is scheduled to 11 a.m., despite that the previsions are pointing to more instable weather conditions.
